I really love horses too. I have owned and ridden horses for a long time. I ride both english and western. My current horse I ride western. I ride him 5 to 7 days a week. He is 12 and I have owned him since he was 5 months old. I have done all of the training. I even have him trained to do several tricks (nod his head yes, shake it no, rear [from the ground only], march, bow, give kisses). One day we were out on a trail ride and riding up a creek. There was an area where we had to leave the creek to go around a low bridge. It had been several months since we had gone this way. I turned my horse to the right to go up the embankment. In the months since we had gone this way someone had strung up some barbed wire to keep ATV's from going down and riding through the creek. I didn't notice the wire until it was at my stomach. I stopped my horse but could not back him down because he had raised his head. Then the wire got caught on the saddle horn. The mud on the embankment was deep and my horse thrashed around some. I came off on my feet and calmed my horse down. So there we were with the wire between the saddle horn and his neck. This was before I had a cell phone so I couldn't call for help and I didn't have any wire cutters with me. I thought to myself, "I wish I had taught my horse to lay down". No sooner did I think this than B.C. laid straight down on his chest. I got the wire over the horn and asked him to walk on. When he got up and tried to move forward the wire got caught on the horn again. He laid down again immediatly. I was downhill from him and decided that I needed to be in front of him. I had to step over his head to do this because there were trees on either side. Once I got in front of him, I asked him to move forward again. Up he came and the wire passed over his back without injuring him. He was so happy to be out of this prediciment that he whinnied with joy. I don't know if he read my mind when he laid down or if he just trusts me so much that he put his safety in my hands. All I know is that it was one of the most amazing (and mysterious) experiences that I have had.

You will see some horse questions. They come in spirts here and there.
I ride Western mainly. Do Pleasure and barrels. I personally own 3 Quarter Horses: gelding 6, Mare 15 and gelding 29. Presently 7 total on property.
I have had bad experience and great experiences with my horses for the last 11 years. From accidents that left me in hospital or bills to placing high at horse shows or watching my 6 year old being born. I honestly love them as they would be my own children. They pratically my kids. They are expensive, I attend and care for their needs. As well as my best friends by being there for me as my suppose to be "true" friends are not.
Some people don't like horses. I say they are only missing out.

I love horses, I own three Appaloosas. I have a 24 year old mare, an 18 year old Gelding which was abused for 13 years of his life and a stallion before we got him, and a 16 year old gelding who thinks he is a cow. I ride both english and western. I do barrel racing, gymkahana, Dressage, Jumping, English and Western Pleasure, english and western equitation, Halter, showmanship, Reining, Freestyle Reining, Freestyle Dressage, CrossCountry, I have also do bronc riding in are high school rodeo and I am a female rider, Roping and team penning. I have had horses almost all my life and have only fallen off a horse once. But I have had my wrist stepped on by a horse, I was putting on boots that is how I got stepped on. I have been hit in the head well kicked the horse for some reason did not like anyone going in its stall but its owner. I was cleaning the stall out with the horse in it and it kicked. At the time the barn I worked at told me that I was not allowed to take other boarders horses out. I have been kicked in the ribs by my horse. He is cow kicks I found out so it is safer to stand behind him because he can't kick straight back. He was my abused gelding horse and an old injury makes it so he can't kick straight back. Well If you ever feel like chatting just email me or talk on yahoo messanger.

I ride both actually. Well, let me restate that once my horse gets trained I am going to be riding English and western. I love horses too and I am glad that someone actually gave me a question that I could express my love of horses and since you want to know some horse stories I shall tell you some horse stories lol.
Okay I use to have four horses but how we have three anyway we were selling two of them and after about 2 weeks of them being on the market we finally got a call. It was a guy from Minnesota and of course he immediately set up a time for him to come down and see the horses. One of the horses for sale was an older mare with four white socks and a blaze, her name was Fame the other one was a black proud cut gelding with a snip on his forehead that looked like a tooth. So before the guy came down we told him that we think the mare might be pregnant and he said okay. So a week later when he came down to look at the horses he walked over to the gait and turned to my mom and said Yeah that mare is definately pregnant, maybe with twins even. My mom then turned to him and said, That's not the mare that's the gelding!
It was funny. Yeah I have a lot of stories but I only tell you one more about my gelding who we call Bling Bling. Bling Bling is an overo lineback dun, very rare color, and he is about three years old. Well about a year ago one of our horses (not Bling Bling) coliced. It was a long night for all of us. When this horse did this we were boarding our horses at the time and I was running to and from the owners land asking them if we coud call a vet at 11 o'clock at night. Of course, no one was open. We finally got a vet an hour away to come and soon the horse was better. But that night my mom lost her cellphone. A week later the horse was good and we found the cellphone. You'll never guess were we found it. We saw Bling Bling out in the pasture throwing it up and down. I hope I made you smile a bit!!! Keep lovin your horses!

I was riding since I was 5. I can't afford a horse, but would love to have one. I've ridden both styles, but prefer Western. My favorite horse I used to ride all the time was Buck....a Buckskin, naturally. He wanted to run & jump all day so not everyone could ride him. He was almost always available because of that. They were glad when I showed up to give him some exercise. He was sold to a fox hunter which I'm sure made him happy.

When i was little i was about six ,now am fourteen, i was ridin my pony and my dad didn't tighten teh saddle good nough and i was under the horse. it didn't hurt til the horse threw me in the barbwire fence we had just built. But it wasn't that bad. I rode my grandpa's bull and never got hurt so i figure horses aint gonna put me down to awful bad.

I was born with the horse gene. I have five horses. One is a 36 y. o. Morab gelding, Tara. Then there is my 25 y. o. Hungarian Felver mare, Ildiko, her 12y. o. daughter, Ilonka and 5 y.o. son. I wish I could post a photo of him. He needs his own website. His sire is a RPSI/Oldenberg. He is pinto. his name is Tarka (Hungarian for multi-colored). Finally, there is Ahbreel a 22 y. o. Arab gelding. I used to ride English, more or less, and have had two car accidents. I don't ride now. I just buy hay, pay vet bills and farrier bills and pick up poop!

Horses - all types - are beautiful.
I spent a summer in Washington [state] and enjoyed riding [Western]. It was one of my few experiences with this pleasant past-time. After having ridden for several days, I finally had the chance to ride Fox, a beautiful stallion. We were in the woods, and I wanted to turn right but he chose left and threw me, nearly trampled me, but I held onto the reigns and pulled myself up and got back on to finish a wonderful ride - a little sore, but happy.

i ride both english and westErn.
there are questions about horses but sometimes they are hard to see....
a story....
well, one time i was riding this horse, topper, over some cavalettis ( tiny series of poles) and he tripped over the last one, and went plop on his belly and i just stood up over him and he got up with me on and acted like nothing happened.
another one:
my horse harley, when i first got him, i had to give him an intranasal vaccination (why they gave me that vs a shot, i still dont know) and he was not keen on it at all!!! after about an hour stuggling with him aith cross ties, in a stall, with three people, we decided to take him to the hitching post outside and get his head as close to the rail as possible and kinda lay on it and blindfoldhim and get it in real quick. so, we tried and he reared up, pulled the rope loose(not all the way) and put his front legs on top of the rail and just kinda lazed there for like two minutes like he was leaning over a counter having a chat with the ladies.... it was SOOOOO funny!!! i didnt have my camera with me though.... :(
