Um, well, I teach, and I'd stand up, excuse myself, and go be Presidential. Not, stare blankly with an upside-down book in my hands. Yeah, I have a life, one of service.

What did you want him to do, get out the nuclear suitcase?

I don't think he looked right either, but I do understand why he didn't do anything at the moment. First of all, what could he do from there? And then there is the whole thing of at the time, he and everyone else thought that it was a tragic "accident". So what was he going to do?

And then one must ask themselves, if Bush would have jumped up and suddenly rushed out of the room, would we be asking why he acted like a panicked leader during a time of needing a strong, calm leader? Him suddenly jumping up and leaving the room in a rush would not only have frightened the children, but the adults. If the president was reacting like that, what was going on? What was such an urgent matter that caused the leader of the most powerful nation in the world to panic?

I don't like the man, and I never voted for the man. But I don't get why everyone has made such a big deal over his "reaction" at the moment of being told something the rest of us were watching in shock at as well. Bush is many things, but he is also human (at least he looks that way - but Chavez has other ideas. . .). Why is everyone chastizing the man for reacting in a human way?

September 11? An illusion at daylight?
I was watching a program about 9/11 event moments ago and it said things that suprised me.I will summarise it for you:
There was a video which was recorded by an American just at the time of the event. This video was not shown in the U.S because it contained evidences which proves that 9/11 event was nothing but a hoax. Most likely it was a dirty terrorist operation organized by the U.S govenment itself to charge a group of innocent people. To attack them.To remove Saddam who did not obey the U.S anymore. To attack countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and steal their energy sources. To do terrible things in the name of fighting terrorism. What are the evidences?here:
Slow motion shows that just before the plane hit the tower there was a light at the collision point INSIDE the tower itself (just before collision). And there was smoke comming up from the BOTTOM of the tower which obviously was not the effect of plane colliding the TOP of the tower. So it could have been a bomb at the bottom of the tower.(this video is a secret one which was sensored in the U.S news). An American standing near the tower has clearly seen that the plane DID NOT have any windows so it COULD NOT have been a passenger plane stolen by immagenary terrorists.Fire fighters who enterd the tower heard the sound of ORGANISED explosions. They were quite sure that there were bombs in there which were planted from before.Have you noticed that tower floors were collapsing in an strange order? One by one?Very neat and clean(organised) work?Ain't it?And slow motion shows that there was a big (missle shaped) object attached to the BOTTOM of the plane.A really complicated job which OBVIOUSLY under-developed countries or stupid Ben Ladden could not have done.Destroying a gigantic building and turning it to dust needs quite a lot of work (at least two months). It needs Complicated calculations done by it's own designers. To calculate which point is suitable to be hit and loads of other things which OBVIOUSLY ....(you know the rest!)
It is time for the U.S people to wake up and see the truth and to get rid of their so called GOVERNMENT.Maybe if I were an American I would be decieved too.But they can see what terrible things their government is doing in the world. So why don't they stop it?Please DO NOT throw stons at me.I like Americans but along with millions of others I hate their government.I am sure there are lots of intelligent people in the U.S who actually know who is guilty. My lip service is:Up with Americans.Down with Bush.

I think I heard on the news, the time between the notification of 9/11 attack and the reaction time was 7 minutes. The book was
"My Pet Goat" or something to that nature.

Well first of all, I'm sure it wasn't immediately known it was a terrorist attack. I heard about it on-line and thought maybe the weather? it was a small plane? Really didn't know the circumstances. Now when the second one hit, I think it was abundantly clear it was a terrorists attack.
I was watching it curiously, when I saw the second one barreling in toward the tower. Then reports came across about the Pentagon etc..
So, I don't think anyone first thought "Terrorist" when hearing about such an absurd thing.

Oh, for gosh sakes..........
It would have been much better for the children present if he had jumped up out of his chair, slung the book across the room and yelled out "those ******* arabs"!!!!!!!!
Do you think that maybe he stopped to say a little prayer for the people on the planes and in the buildings. I did when I heard of the first plane crashing, even before I knew it was a terrorist attack.
And you can "say" that you would calmly excuse yourself and go be presidential. Any of us can make that claim. But being a teacher hardly makes you presidential, heck, it doesn't even qualify you to be principle. Have you ever experienced a life changing, life altering event? Well, the president probably experience one of those a day. Leave him alone, grow up and be a good example of an adult to your students, instead of being a teenage rebel all of your life.

Moron. When the first aircraft hit it was not known that we had been attacked. It was at the time believed to be a problem with air traffic control. When the second one hit and it was apparent that it was more than an accident, he did the right thing...HE DIDN'T OVER REACT AND SCARE YOUNG SCHOOL CHILDREN.

Idiots like you piss me off. You don't like the way he handled it, but if he became exited you'd accuse him of traumatizing children, causing them life long anguish and not behaving presidential. Do ignorant liberals (a redundant term if ever there was one) have anything to do other than second guess and criticize the president?

You seriously need to get a clue... And a life.

As a world leader, he was devasted any on in the position will feel that way. Life is not scripted, we have to pause and gather our thoughts during the attack. People, attack Bush for the unjustification. HE WAS THE RIGHT PRESIDENT, AT OUR DEVASTING TIME AND PERIOD.

I know I wouldn't be able to absorb that kind of news and bounce back as quickly as he did. I applaud President Bush for keeping his cool in that situation. Do you realize how truly idiotic you sound, claiming that he sat "doing nothing"? Ever heard of THINKING? What sort of mindless knee-jerk reaction would you have preferred? Oh, you wanted him to "be presidential," didn't you? What an enormous @$$ you must be!

If you're a teacher, I feel sorry for your students!

Bush is a excellant leader and has done a very good job as far as I am concerned and has common sense.
