We had a family reunion planned June 2006. Its a cruise to the Bahamas. This is an experience for my kids that are now 11 and 9. He says no he wont allow them to leave the country. Let me add that we havent had a cordial relationship in years, so anything i do he fights me on. Does anyone know of any other way or a loop hole in the system to get this done.

If you have custody, and there is a child support order, go to the Judge at the Frind of the Court, explain the situation and they may allow it without his permission, it worked for me when I took my son out of the country and his Dad fought me on it! They're all nice when you're together, then turn into monsters, It's NOT that he doesn't want the kids to go, He just wants to hurt YOU! Good Luck

If I were you, I would try to mend the relationship with the ex since you will be connected to this man for the rest of your life! Everyone sufferes when this kind of thing goes on. Just because you are divorced does not mean you have to hate each other. Oh, by the way......you missed the reunion.......June 2006 was 3 months ago!

Do you have sole physical and legal custody of the children?

If the court document so states, you don't need his permission on anything.

I would call, however, 1-877-487-2778.

That is to the National Passport Information Center. Call during the week and you can get the straight answer from them.

Invite him to go.

OR

Beg him. Do not bicker with him anymore.

OR

Listen to him. Perhaps he is scared for a reason, such as the safety of kids on a cruise. I don't know. I've known people not to let their kids on a boat at all.

Try to be reasonable with him on all things from now and he just might start giving you the responses you want to hear.
