Keep an updated version of spyware remover, or just use Norton's Spyware remover on Yahoo's toolbar each night!

Unfortunately, the adware programs cannot remove all instances of these little buggers. The only way to do this is to do a search on the internet for that particular tracking cookie. You will find a page that will give you manual instructions on how to remove this. I wish it was easier but this is the only way for many of the more difficult ones.

do a search for "cookie" (no parenthesis)
Opent he cookie folder that was found
If none was found, go to tools/folder options/View Tab/
Select "Show hidden files and folder
then repeat the search and open the cookie folder
delete its contents.
If this still does not work, download hijackthis.exe and remove the annoying tracking bug. GOOD LUCK!

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

its a free online scan... I sent this URL in another message to another user on this board... Husband has 30 plus years experience in computers and programming and we use this as well as have protection via firewalls and virus protection programs.

Also you might try going to your "control Panel" select "Internet Options" and check your "privacy" tab. Select the setting that is right for your needs. I have mine set fairly high. Once you have the setting you want hit "Apply" You cant hurt anything doing this so don't worry.

Good luck

In both internet explorer and mozilla firefox -
search for "yahoo toolbar with antispy"
you are prompted what to do next.

Essentially install the toolbar (with many otions) and then
activate the antispy, upload the new version if prompted and so on,
then run the antispy ware, chose to remove all bugs found .

click on "tools" in your browser toolbar, then click on "internet options," then click on "delete cookies," then click on "temporary internet files," and when it prompts you as to whether or not you're sure about wanting to delete the temporary internet files, click on "yes," then click "okay" at the bottom of the popup screen. that should block you from any interruptions while you're trying to close. hope this helped!!
