Hormones. This can happen for years of purbety. My hurt too, but that's why. You could go to a doctor, but it's nothing to freak about.

I am just going to stab at things:

a) I assume that you are NOT breast feeding because women who have started breast feeding have sore nipples... for obvious reasons

b) It's pretty common for nipples to get chafed during exercise. If you've been running and lifting weights, you might just be irritating the skin. Thus do not now if you have been exercising, and all that stuff.

c)Depending on your age, you might have some gynecomastia. It's a benign breast enlargement, especially right behind the nipples. It will go away on its own.

d) Are you sure you are not pregnant? Nipples will hurt during pregnancy

e) In general, symptoms that are present in both breasts (bilateral) tend to be associated with a systemic change than a change specific to the breasts themselves. While you may(You did not specify this) be experiencing perimenopausal changes, I would still encourage you to ask you doctor about these symptoms.

My nipples only hurt when I got pregnant. Go to the OB GYN Doctor... or maybe you should pick up a pregnancy test, "FIRST RESPONSE", and check for yourself first, and then make a Doctors Appointment. You may have gotten pregnant from a few months back.

Sore nipples can be a pregnancy symptom, that can be ruled out if you haven't had sex, but using a pregnancy test won't hurt. Your bra might be too tight or the shirts you wear are irritating your breasts somehow. Check with your doctor if you're concerned.

I am not sure if not having sex, would hurt nipples.

Also make a notice of the difference you feel in the days after when you have / had sex. May be your body is having a sexual urge.

Hope you are not pregnant.........while in pregnancy the breasts prepare to the upcoming baby. this could be other cause for the pain.

my wife says that even though you havent had sex from what you say well to be on the safe side take a pregnancy test or what could be happening is your boobs are still growing, but in any case i would see a doctor if it gets worse.

Try to put castor oil, or olive oil on them or camphor like chapstick.
U may be experiences premenopause symtoms if u are in your 30's or 40's.
This is natural, try some B vitamins

Have you had sex in the past?If you had maybe it's your first signs of pregnancy. If not...if you are not having sex and you r breat are tender it is due to a hormonal imbalance since your peroids are irregular. Also if you don't wear a bra it will make your breast tender.
