Leave the poor hedgehogs alone

I love exotics! I've had 3 hedgehogs in my lifetime and currently have 4 sugar gliders.
Hedgehogs can be great pets - the main concern I've heard is diet. People unknowingly buy petstore packaged food which can actually be harmful and not nutritious.
Anyway, I love them! If you handle them enough they don't ball up and aren't difficult to pick up. I had a boy Dante that I would take with me shopping - I just kept him snuggled up in my pocket on my hoodie sweatshirt.
If you clean their bedding regularly, they dont smell - I fed high quality cat food, fruits, veggies and insects for diet and kept Dante in a large rubbermaid. It's what the vet recommended for an enclosure - VERY inexpensive and easy to wash, you just have to drill a few ventilation holes near the top and holes for a water bottle.

I had a friend who loved hedgehogs...I have pets who are domestic and exotic at the same time! LOL I have another friend who has a hawkhead parrot that is quite a character tho! She whistles the first few notes of "Strangers in the Night" among other things. Very entertaining!

I have a chinchilla. She's a cutie and a bunch of fun. But I have heard that hedgehogs don't make good pets. Either way do your research and see what pet best suites your lifestyle.

My son's friend has had several hedgehogs, and he says they make great pets.
Me? I just have the cats and the hamster. Nothing too "exotic"!

i have 4 snakes 3 lizards and an African gray parrot and i have had hedgehogs in the past i didn`t like them but i say to each their own.

I don't know if hedge hogs make good pets. They seem like they would be kinda wild. But I have never met one. Good luck picking out your pet!

I am the only woman scientist stationed at an ice and weather observatory deep in Antarctica. I rescued an injured penguin, Rufus, and now he lives with me at the base. He is lazy, funny and curious. But I think he likes me and I could use a friend.

ha properly i say domestic dogs are the finest and they awesome :) yet in case you decide on some thing "unique" get a toddler skunk their so cute and in no way alot of people have it, yet you should carry it to the vet and get this aspect bumped off so it doesnt spray you I have a three year olld skunk named rustyy :D

she loves holly but remember dont pet it the wrong way!!!!!!
