I have Japanese Hornets in my back yard and I live in Ohio, I know they are the Japanese Hornets because I looked on here and it looks exactly the same, 2 inches long and I remember seeing them a long time ago about two years ago but no where near where i lived this is the first time i've seen them where i live, usually they come out at night but i have seen them during the day, two of them got into the house which we did kill them but theres some still on the back porch where i'm guessing is close to the nest, does any one have any suggestions on what to do? these hornets are deadly there stinger contains eyzama or something like that which can dissolve human skin, if stung u have to recieve immediate medical treatment whether alergic or not

Sorry, there are NO Asian(Japanese) Giant Hornets living in North America...... It can be found in most of Asia but mostly in the mountains of Japan: southeastern regions of Asian Russia (Primorskii Krai), Korea, China, Japan, Indochina, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka.

I would suggest you simply call an exterminator, you can go here to find the type of insect that you have, but I highly doubt it is an Asian giant hornet... http://bugguide.net/node/view/12324/bgpage

You need to look in your papers advertisement area for a pest control person who knows how to deal with such things. I do know that bees/wasps and im guessing hornets too dont like smoke, so this could be an alternative if you really need to get rid of them at once. I dont think they can see in smoke. Dont go with a small burning cloth near them they will scatter everywhere, im just talking about the defensive way if some of them get in your house or elsewhere etc. Take care...

Raid has an excellent product for hornets. You spray the nest when it is least active. The product shoots about twenty to twenty-two feet away, so its safe, effective and the best thing I've seen. I have sevral toddlers and Had hornets and wasps.

I live in Japan and I know what you mean. Here we just use a baseball cap and swat them.
