The clues:
1. He is out of high school ( Talked of his prom when he took Pearl).
2. His parents appear to be firmly in middle age.
3. Still young enough to call old people old (IE-Old Man Jenkins).
4. Talked of "Today being the day" in the first episode when he got the job at The Crusty Crab.
5. Has been trying to learn to drive for quite some time.
6. (Spoiler alert) Is old enough to be promoted to manager in the movie.
So, it appears maybe in the first episode he turned 21 ( he was already living on his own, maybe going to Bikini Bottom Community College on his parents tab). Now he is a very immature mid 20's person, old enough to be a fast food manager, but young enough to do the other things listed.

I believe Spongebob is timeless. He acts like a kid, but he has a job at the Krusty Krab. He also goes to boating school so if I had to guess I'd say 16. (a very immature 16)

During the beginning of the movie after Spongebob's dream, he tells us about his 3000 consecutive employee of the month awards. This would make him all most 200 years old and during the whole movie, they say he is a kid.

Veru good question. (he has a job, and his own house so thats 18. How long has the show been on? say 7 years so atleast 25 Thats a very gay 25 year old.

I see what you sayin because one min. he acts like a pure adult, I mean a gob a house and even tryin to get his driver lesions but on the other hand he acts like a lame because he got stung by a jelly fish. all and all I think he is gay

i dunno.
in some episodes he doesn't even have a "boat liscense" and in others he is old enough to have a job, and get places in a matter of under 3.176854309 seconds
