I keep seeing college and pro (American) football players with tight bands around their arms, usually below the biceps. What are they and what's the point? Thanks!

i am thinking it's more like the "jacked up" comment.. these are really skinny bands, like under 1/4 inch thick... not thick enough to write anything on. you really think it's just to pump up their muscles?

Makes them looked jacked, I guess, but only by constricting the blood flow. I don't know why coaches and trainers would allow it. I think it looks stupid.

Okay, the tight bands are either elbow pads or sweat bands so they can grip the ball better. Quarterbacks (the guys that touch the ball at the start of the play) sometimes wear certain bands at the wrists to provide even better sweat protection. Hope this helps.
