How many conservatives and Republicans are comfortable with giving them to Howard Dean, HIlary Clinton or some other liberal Democrat? After all, sooner or later a liberal Democrat WILL BE ELECTED. Something to think about.

Just to be specific, I'm referring to the power to tap the phone lines of U.S. citizens without a warrant, and the power to keep prisoners imprisoned forever without trial, as well as the power to set up tribunals which totally deny defendants all guarantees of a fair trial. This president also argued before the Supreme Court that as president he is not subject to US law outside US borders (the Court told him he was wrong).

I completely agree with you, I know that everyone will say that, that was so 6 years ago but, I think that the 2000 election was rigged, watch Fahrenheit 9/11

The same laws have been in effect for along time, only modified regularly.

Did some ACTUALLY reference Farenheit 9/11 years after it was proved to be a historically inaccurate AND immoral and irresponsible persuasive "speech"?

In terms of a liberal democrat, I'm a Republican, but as long as they don't make abortions easier to get (which I bet they will) and illegal immigrants still having rights, it might be a refreshing change of pace that this country needs.

PS - STOP VOTING FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE BAD ANSWERS UNLESS THEY'RE STUPID, IMMATURE OR DON'T DEAL ON THE SUBJECT! You people are just being mean!

Clinton used these same powers when he held the same office. Not very well covered in the liberal media. The problem is that if you take them away from Bush it will set a very bad president for the next president, whoever that may be.

It is scary to think that a liberal democrat will again hold the highest office in the land.
I don't think he is using any powers that any other president hasn't used, or considered using.
And for the knucklehead who claims that our President receives messages from God: Jeeze, we all know that God stopped talking with the devil eons ago. Make up you mind, is he the devil or a prophet?
