It could. I do make allowances in my thinking for the unknown, and I definitely believe there is a spirit life here on earth. We are only at the outer edges of communicating with it. Thanks to humanity's recent technology, this unexplained "fourth dimension" (spiritual) has been able to somehow record itself for us. This happens in both audio and visual medium.
Have you ever looked into white noise? It's very interesting. I'm not talking about the movie. I'm talking about the alternative science study of white noise and the imprints spirits can leave for us through recording devices. The same would apply to photographs, except I suppose it wouldn't be called "noise." Some people may find it all impossible or crazy.
But you know what? A lotta people thought Alexander Grahm Bell and Ben Franklin were crazy too. They thought it was an impossibility to transfer sound across miles or to produce light. To people back then, it seemed like bending God's laws. But really, it wasn't bending God's laws. It was simply gaining a greater understanding of our surroundings and His creation.

It's dust. as simple as that. It'll show up on all cameras. As small, various orbs, they're dust particalks in the air amongst other particals. Watch out for the BRIGHT colour particals though.. because those, are actually unexplained sighting, and are thought to be ghosts.

It might have something to do with how the light is being interpreted by your camera. Some cameras don't take the kind of pictures you would expect at night, you have to use the right settings.

dust particles in the air. That would explain it 9 times out of 10. That or it could be what you think since I do believe in hauntings and spritis.
