When it becomes intellectually boring, or when everyone around you is talking about the job you hate.

Quit while you have a chance to change your life. You must have a goal and a realistic ambition. I had no choice but to change my life when I was medically discharged as a Marine Engineer (severe spine injury and profound deafness, but there ya go).

Always look forward and plan ahead, never look back when you make a decision, good or bad. If what you are doing isn't working for you, then you have to to do something different.

What I am doing now gives me more satisfaction than anything I have ever done, and here I am ....... over here............

When you get there you sit in the car etc before you go in.After you get in everyone you see makes you sick and your ready to go right back out the door. But knowing the bills are due,and you haven't found a job yet you start work and try to make another day.

My mother gave me some advice a number of years ago that I use frequently to help me make decisions like that one: Are you happy (really happy) at least 50% of the time? If you are, then stay because that's about the best anyone can expect. If you're not, then make the necessary changes to fix that. Everyone deserves to be happy!

If you have been there a long time and are close to retirement is the only reason I would say to stick it out.
If you aren't close, then when you hate going to work and are miserable and are starting to get stomach aches and high blood pressure, it isn't worth your health... find another job and leave....

When you have to talk yourself into getting dressed EVERY morning, talk yourself into driving to work EVERY morning, talk yourself into getting out of the car and going into the building EVERY day. When your stomach is queasy Monday-Friday. When you HATE your job.

You have waited too long.
