I have searched high and low and haven't been able to find a simple set of solid-colored 100% COTTON sheets for less than $120! Is this a joke?? We were poor and my mom NEVER used anything but cotton sheets. I can't stand polyester. Someone help!

Ok I did find some on Walmart.com for $60. But that's still pretty darn expensive if you ask me. And I know for a fact my mom wasn't payin anything near that for them... even if it were adjusted for inflation.

Excuse me scout, but I wasn't shopping at "high end stores." The $120 price that I quoted IS FROM TARGET. And I checked Wal-Mart too and even the cheapest they have is $60, except for the t-shirt material kind which frankly I don't like. It doesn't feel like sheet cotton. It feels like when I was in college and I didn't put my clothes away so I slept on them in a big pile on the bed. =P So unless you can provide a specific store and price, don't criticize... cause more likely than not, you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry, but I can't stand when people assume there must be something cheaper out there. Somehow, I seriously doubt that you've looked...

The ones you saw at target are 40% polyester, scout. I saw them too. Please read the question before answering. =P

I would find some place else to shop.... I buy 250 to 400 thread count 100% cotton sheets all of the time. The less the thread count, the cheaper the sheets. This is usually a case of you get what you pay for..........Even Wal-Mart should have 100% cotton sheets, but I don't know what the quality is like.....

Well, Sorry! I buy them all the time from a lot of different places. Bed Bath & Beyond, Garnet Hill, qvc.com, etc. etc. & I pay different prices. Many are sold separately, bottom, top, pillow case set, so they can range in price from $97 per set to $58 ea. for top & bottom & $30- $40 for pillow cases........
I usually purchase the higher thread count to use on our beds & the lesser thread counts for guest beds & for the beds in the motor home. All you have to do is look around to find them, they are out there. Happy Now???

Quit shopping at the high end stores! Walmart or Target or Kohls have plenty. I saw some nice ones 300 ct the other day at target for 13.99 a package.

Go to Walmart and get Jersey-knit sheets. They are cotton and oh so comfortable, they are like t-shirt material and dont shrink. They sell them all over but we all know Walmart has good deals!

amen sister---but we now live in a world where if you want something natural--man is it gonna cost you!!

Best thing i can think of is maybe an outlet store or someplace that doesn't sell a perfect set because of some hidden defect!

hotel/motel retailers have them but you will have to buy in lots of 3 sets the more you buy the cheaper it is, they also can be dyed, used for crafts and many other things

vermont country store has them but they are pricy
