Depends on what kind of movie you usually watch. For instance, I'm a big horror fan... So I'd recommend The Grudge (either version), any of the old classic horrors or, going for something slightly less horror based, Identity or Saw/Saw 2 are both fantastic. The Hannibal Lecter films are good to watch-Red Dragon is my favourite. Then, you have the family type movies, The Mummy, X-Men, Spiderman.

A lot of good suggestions here already, but I would recommend V for Vendetta or Serenity. Both are characterized by fine performances, great script and smooth direction. The plots are interesting and there are some scenes in each that will make you want to cheer.

I hope this helps.

whatever you do, don't rent "Nothing" it was the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Its one of those movies that you make someone you don't like watch it. I guess it would depend on what you are in the mood for. Sorry I'm not much of help, but there isn't any decent new movies out really. Good luck

Have you thought of TV on DVD? Pick a show and watch a couple of episodes at a time. Maybe Rome or Entourage, or if you're milder maybe comedies like The Office?

first of all, congrats on watching a movie together! it's great that the two of you plan on watching together.

it's probably too late tonight, but tomorrow i suggest that you watch 'the butterfly effect'.

i'm not a movie critic, however, i did stay at a holiday inn express last night!

I don't know your type of movie but I thought "The Producers" was pretty good. "Waiting" was hilarious. "Bewitched" was decent. Me and my husband watched "Just My Luck" the other day, it was a good movie. "RV" was ok. "She's The Man" was cute.

Theres a few sorry I couldn't be of more help
