In some ways they may already be. They are up there in terms of mathematicians always.

And of course there are a little over a billion chinese.

Never. They will become an economic super power, but they have some huge problems that will be very expensive to solve. They are only beginning to address the huge pollution problems they have over there, and that is just one of their big problems. They also have 1.2 billion people to feed, clothe, etc.

It won't. China is a communist totalitarian regime and nothing like that has ever lasted. Even the Soviet Union eventually ground itself into the dirt.

Bigness does not make a superpower.

A few years ago, I read an estimate of 30 to 50 years but last year that was reduced to between 10 to 20.
