has anyone ever met anyone froma a chatroom? or would you cosider it?
I'm 27 and not some kid who is easily fooled and dont intend to meet anyone but was interested in peoples views

just a note to clear things up I am seeing someone now for over 2yrs (didnt meet in chat room) but last year did meet someone whom had been chatting to for about 3 yrs or so. was not planned but what happened was we stayed about 20miles apart and I was out shopping when just bumped into her (recognised each other from photos had posted) she is now great friend of both me and girlfriend. was interested in what peoples thoughts were on meeting "Strangers" as i would not have thought about meeting anyone. the question arose as i was talking to my friend earlier in week and she asked if we hadnt met way we did would I have arranged to meet her

5 years ago I got chatting to this guy in lycos, we met up after 6 months of intensive chatting both online and on the phones. Nothing heavy or nothing. We met up as we decided it would be nice to meet each other in real life and after all we were just friends. I married him last year. He was the first one I had ever met of my online mates.

You need to be careful of who you meet in a chat room.. They can tell you anything you want to hear and then in the end you find out they are nothing like they said they were ... have chatted with a lot of women that have found this out.. I know one that even had to move because she meant someone and thought they were the one... come to find out he was nuts, tryed to control her and all. So plz be careful.. I dont want to hear about you on the news... If you want to meet someone do things around where you live if you like children help out at the boys and girls club.. there are alot of places you can meet ppl..and by helping with things that you like to do 9 out of 10 there will be some man there that likes the samething.. dont worry the right one will come along but plz becareful with trying to meet someone tho a chat.... I have not dated thru the internet and to tell u the truth id be scared to, i believe it works for some people but im way too suspicios i want a nice decent bloke who is family orientated and who would be a hopeless romantic, how could u b sure to find that on the net? im worried bout u gettin hurt u sound too sweet xxx

I am not sure it is always a case of being fooled, some times I think because of the limited information given in chat rooms people mis-conceive the people they are talking to and that can be dangerous or disasterous.

i find chat rooms odd... hard to get talking without someone demanding a webcam or some sort of cyber sex...ridiculous but i cant ever find any one in there that want a conversation...id say best bet if youre going down this route is online dating services or dedicated forums/chatrooms to something you have a particular interest in ...that way you already have something in common, too

I have a small group of friends (5 of us in total) and we chat every day. They are great people and I look forward to the time I spend with them. I guess it depends on what you are looking for, none of my friends are gangsters or criminals.

Increasingly dangerous, dont give away any personal details over it even those who are adults should be cautious. I wouldn't reccomend them
