I have the same degree and work in a lab doing cancer research (start pay is around 50K in CA). It pays very well, challenging work, mentally stimulating and I feel I'm doing something meaningfull. Best way is to get some research experience while in school - talk to a professor you like - most have labs so you can get some experience. After graduation go to a lab temp agency - kelly scientific staffing or lab support - we get many of our new hires from there. It's a quick way to find a job and most positions are temp to perm - so you can really shine and prove yourself. Best of luck - and don't assume you HAVE to go to grad school (you can always go later)
