Are you interested in history or in turkish versions of history? Big difference here... You seem to be afraid to use the word "genocide", even though all the Christian people did not left the area as you seem to think. They were forced to evacuate their ancestral lands. Millions of them were slaughtered, or were slowly murdered at the Amele Tamburus that they were forced to go. Women and children were murdered and raped, fortunes were stollen and destroyed, churches were turned into stables... So, why do you want to find their children? To finish off what your forefathers started?

I'm pretty solid in genealogy research and I assure you that this is going to be hard. There has been SO MUCH to disrupt populations in that area. I suggest that you run some newspaper ads in cities where you SUSPECT that these children may be living. You ought to get some response from that and then you can build a network out from each one who replies to you.

WORK UP A SET OF QUESTIONS TO ASK EACH--your mailing/email address, phone number, contacts among their relatives, etc.

ALSO try organizations (social and fraternal, business, etc) in the target cities.

Once you have mind one set of cities, then start on another.

I believe what "moritsia" said, could been a genocide. But "some big" Greeks have done the same in South Macedonia during the civil war in Greece after WWII (1948-1949). Is she afraid to talk about it, too?
