it's not sensitive enough. You would have to get lots of coins, at least a few hundred, weigh them all together, then divide by the number of coins to get a more accurate reading. The post office has more sensitive scales.

Nope. The bathroom scale is designed to measure in large units, so it's not sensitive enough to measure small things like nickles. If you need to measure a nickle you're going to need to find something like a kitchen scale, that measures out food, or use a scientific scale, which is much more sensitive.

as you can see from several other people's answers the 5 cents piece is too light to register on a bathroom scale.
but thats on earth!
i would think that if you went to a much more massive planet eg jupiter - where its mass is approximately 317 times greater than earth - presumably the mass of the 5 cent coin will be 317 times greater than what it is on earth.
so i GUESS that it would be like registerting 317 nickles and that can be used to give you the required weight of one nickle - on earth.

No,bathroom scales only measure in half-pound increments, so a 5-cent coin wouldn't even register.

Yes, get a 100 or 200 coins, get their mass and then divide by the number of coins

No, the scales not calibrated fine enough to measure it.
However, an American 5 cent piece weighs 5 grams, which is how pot is sold.

no, because the mass is not the same as the weight the wieght of an object is the amount of gravity that is pushing down on the object you might want to try using a balance scale.

no - you would need a postal scale
a food scale might help, but it's not as accurate as a postal scale
