Honestly Bonds belongs in jail. Baseball should be ashamed of itself letting this circus continue. Everyone but Bonds seems to be doing all his jail time. All baseball cared about is the dollars this home run race is generating. God forbid they do the right thing and make he test for steroids. Who, except for the Giant fans will even recognize what he is doing? Baseball needs a real commissioner to clean this game up once and for all.

Yeap! Sing him for another year! Barry will stay in SF... have you seen him play this last week. Knee is stronger! Healthy, he can go for 130-140 games, and put up 35 hrs to reach 756. In the NL West, a healthy Bonds is enough to take the division... plus, sold out crowds from May until October! He is top 3 baseball player of all-time! Not speaking as a fan, speaking rationally!

Yes, the Giants need to keep Bonds! If they didn't have Bonds this year that would have lost over 100 games. Not only is he the most feared hitter in baseball, he also makes all his teammates better hitters. The only bad thing is I have to wait to next season to see Bonds hit #756.

It depends if the Giants want to make a push in the west next season. There is no dominant team in the west that looks to carry over to next year. The Giants would be better off if they unloaded his contract and sought out a top starting pitcher or another bat. If ownership wants to just make money off ticket sales, jerseys, and memorabilia then they should hold on to him. The guy can no longer juice up and it definitely shows when he's in the outfield. Although he can hit the long ball, he is a big defensive liability. Anyhow I could care less. Go Dodgers!!!!

In truth, no they shouldn't. He can't run anymore, and is a DH in left field. He plays just over half the time, he can be pitched to more often, and the Giants will have to pay him much more money than he's worth.
But yes, they should sign him. Granted, he's a steroid-HGH freak, but the Giants will make a ton of money off him next year as he approaches the record.

The question should be posed as:
Will Barry Bonds allow the Giants to offer him a new contract?
He's gone Giants fans - mark it down!
He will be in the American League next year and will retire as the all time HR leader and the all time biggest jerk of baseball in our lifetime.
I hope he slips, falls, and cracks his big head open before he beats out Hank Aaron for the Career HR Record......
yeah, that would make me laugh!

I hope 756 NEVER happens even if he came to my favorite team...
Why do you cheer for someone who cheated his way to the record?
I hope he doesn't get it in SF (if he gets it at all). I want to see him being booed by 50000+ fans as he goes all the way around the bases.
I want to see him booed every single time he goes to the plate afterwards on the road. SF fans may cheer him at home, but no one on the road will.
Or will the Giants only play him in home games? - hey that would turn out to be a good free agency move wouldn't it.

I am watching him play right now against the Brewers. He is currently playing like he belongs in t-ball. But his steroid fattened body does not belong in the hall of fame much less at the top of any home run record that was won by unnatural abilities. Hank Aaron got his by hard work and not chemistry. I think Bonds should quit at the end of this season and not shame the game anymore than he already has.

The question is do the Giants want to hold onto the past or move to the future?
If the future and future success is thier goal, they should slowly phase Bonds out of thier team and phase new players in. Keeping Bonds one more year may help to transition to the future.
Whether or not his records should stand, depends in my opinion, whether he used steroids or HGH to enhance his performance. While I, as many others, believe Bonds used such substances, proof of that use has been hard to find.

I think Bonds will end up on another team as a dh. Possibly in Seattle , along with his old friend and manager Dusty Baker. Bonds knees won't let him be a position player anymore and Dusty is going to need a new team to manage. I think they could both end up in Seattle with Bonds breaking the record as a dh and then retiring after the season.
