I am 29 and my parents are divorcing. Both try to get sympathy from my siblings and myself, but the problem is there are so many secrets, we have no idea what is the truth. They never had a great marriage, and were pretty crummy parents to me and my brothers. So why then, am I so depressed?

It is best to stay out of your parent's relationship. After all, you are an adult now, and if the tables were turned you wouldn't want them meddling in your business; however you should offer your love and support to both of them. Regardless of whether they were good parents or not, they are both your parents and all children want to see their parents stay together. When divorce happens, families tend to fall apart, and that can be scarry no matter what age you are. Know that your mother and father will still remain a part of your life, and that your relationship with both of them will continue. Time will take care of the sad feelings...Concentrate on you and let your parents work out the details themselves.
