Could you disown a family member, if they did something awful? I'm not counting if they did something to another family member or close friend, but just a random stranger?

weel,an older brother was disowned for all the reasons you listed,not getting into what exactly,but belive me if ya knew u would disown him too.

No I couldn't I believe people make mistakes and should be forgiven of their mistakes, same as God forgives us.We do terrible things all the time can you imagine if he disowned us.
( we would be in trouble )
I would ask my family member why they did what they did and tell them how I felt about it .

Yeah but that means that the person in the family must've done something extremely bad to do that.

i could never disown my family but i can certainly stop associating or talking to them. i've done it before.

no I would be disappointed and I would not like what they did but I would not disown them blood is thicker then water.

You can choose your friends, you cannot choose your family.
If it is the right thing to do, do it, althought you may face the wrought of the family.
the bottom line is, do the right thing, what you feel is right.
