Is it just me or has it gotten REALLY intense amongst us Answers baseball fans coming down the stretch! We're debating, taunting, insulting, all that good stuff. I love it. What about you?

It's not my favorite thing about Y!A,
but I find it very amusing when the taunting & debating gets intense.
It's the insulting I don't really go for.
Summer's supposed to be the hot time of the year,
but here in Y!A, October's gonna be the hottest month of the year!

Oh, I'm in the thick of it, with the Amazing Mets showing little sign of slacking off (hey, the Nationals have to win a game or two down the road somewhere), a team I hate (the Steinbrenners) in the playoffs and another (the Dodgers) still in the hunt.

There are several exciting races left to decide, the most prominent being the AL Central, where the Tigers and Twins are neck and neck down the stretch and White Sox fans still have hope for the wild card (though Ozzie Guillen probably has lost his and the team is feeling low, victims of a sudden surge by the mighty Mariners toward .500. The Sox did win today).

Also there is the NL West, where the Padres try to hold off the Dodgers and there is still a chance for the Giants. Adding spice, the Phillies are trying to grab the wild card away from the second-place team in that division. (And let's face it, the Phillies are hardly a post-season fixture.)

In the NL Central the Cardinals have not yet locked it up, and the Reds and Astros are gunning for them, though it may be too late.

Alas that the Red Sox succumbed to injuries. That race could have been a tight one, too, and I would much prefer the BoSox to the Steinbrenners anyway.

Even the lowlier teams have goals to shoot for. In the unlikely event that the Mariners win all their remaining games, they finish above .500 (!) Some teams' fans will chant the "wait 'til next year" mantra (Cubs in 2008!).

So passions are running high as we head to the World Series. Yankee-baiting, Tiger miracles and partisan support all contribute. And in today's political climate, isn't it great to be able to blow off steam with a friendly argument?

Hmm curious.. i would be truthful i choose different lady followers too sometimes by way of fact i hate for us to be misrepresented. diverse women that are in touch in activities could be THAT lots smarter THAT lots extra effective by way of fact they are women in a male ruled subject rely. no longer that i'm complaining whether that's difficult by way of fact it gets discouraging once you're judged. I understand the place men are coming from there are a number of women who purely say issues and point out how they love activities yet don't be responsive to a ingredient. So its ordinary to lump people jointly. yet i wish (i will paintings on it too) that the gents take time and attempt to appreciate that the lady is actual a DIE difficult fan ;) amazing question! action picture star for you! p.s. its so difficult for me.. by way of fact lady baseball followers or activities followers are so difficult to discover the place i stay! If purely they have been categorized i will make friends with them!! All my friends hate activities!

debating and the good stuff that goes with pennant races and post season ball are great.....the taunting and insults are just childish and unnecessary.

I find it too stressful but I am a die hard Mets fan so there is always stress.

I don't like the taunting, insults and all that -- I just enjoy seeing my team play well.
they seldom do well so I don't expect it, and it's always a thrill
when they do . Not like some other teams who everyone expects to win.
