oky i just bought a pair of "board shorts" basically a bathing suit, from Oakley, its 89% polyester, and 11% spandex. i bought it in my usual waiste size but it just seems way too big.

does anyone think this will shrink up the first time i wash it, and dry it? i usually wash my light colors in pretty hot water, and use the dryer for like an hour.

It will not shrink - at least not enough to make a difference. I'd return it.

Clothing made out of a cotton blend will shrink if washed in hot water and dried on the hottest setting in the dryer...

However, your polyester and spandex shorts will stay the same size no matter how you wash them.

It might worth a few bucks getting them hemmed to the length you'll feel more comfortable in.

Or if you can, take them back for a different pair.

They may shrink a little if you keep putting it in the dryer but not really enough to be noticeable. Polyester and spandex don't really have the tendency to shrink much. Maybe you could take them back and exchange them.

No, I don't. Polyester doesn't shrink. The spandex will make it feel snug but it will stretch out to the original size in no time. You should return it for a smaller size if it doesn't fit you good.

These won't shrink. The fabric that shrinks is cotton or wool. Water temp won't bother it but I would dry it on a lower heat, or even hang them up to dry.

No, because of the spandex it will not shrink can you return for a smaller size? If not a seamstress can fix them for you.

It shouldn't but if you are worried about it just hang dry it.
