Only if you have marketable skills. Entry-level doesn't mean no experience or knowledge. You have to have something to offer if you want a decent wage.

I know that Home Depot start all employees at $7.50 and raise it to $8 after 30 days. I don't know any other companies that definitely start entry-level positions off at $9.
But that's in Texas, so it is probably more on the West Coast.

Hi there, Working in most banks start out at $9.00 - $9.50 hourly. I believe, and at Culligan Water in Regina, Saskatchewan, I believe they pay around the same wage. Most places like Home Depot and Rona are close to $9.00 hourly, I heard from people working there. Good luck.

A reception position in a medical office usually starts out close to that with no experience. You may be able to hold out for a little more even if you have good phone skills, can type and can pick up the job quickly

That depends upon the area where you are looking. In high-cost areas such as LA, New York or Boston, the defacto minimum wage is around $9 - $10 an hour. That won't buy you much in those areas, though.

depends on what you want to do. Garbage collector starts out over 9. Is that acceptable? If not, think about it, and visit some businesses... NOT to ask for an application, but to inquire about the business and information on how one gets into the business, pay, etc. Successfull people LOVE to help other people.
