I have this problem. I found it was due to work stress. I finally told off the person that was the major source of the stress and that helped a lot. Still happens occasionally. Avoid alcohol and caffeine before bed. Keep track of what is happening during your days that you are up at night vs nights you sleep better see if there is a common denominator.

I've had this. You should see a therapist or at least your doctor. I used to have panic attacks in the middle of the night. Changing your diet to healthier foods colon cleansings and drinking enough water etc. Blood work should say what the problem might be that is effecting your mental health. Healthy body healthy mind they say. One of my main problems was from being dehydrated. If you take in too much salt etc. Get tested though to be sure. Head aches and so on could be a build up in toxins. Stress can contribute to ignoring your bodies health. Right now I'm on Trazodone to help me sleep. There are others like Klonopin that can calm you down.Stimulants like caffeine and chocolate and other middle eastern herbals can trigger some of this too.Did I say see your doctor?

I have the same problem, you can't turn your mind off because you replay all of your problems. I was told by a doctor once, that you work your way around your body, relaxing every muscle from your toes up. That helped a little, but because I was so tired at work, he gave me a mild sleeping pill. They have some out that are not habit forming, you might talk to him and get some to get your body back into a normal sleep pattern. I hope this helps you.

First of all, instead of focusing on a quick fix most likely there is an underlying reason for your insomnia. A lot of times we are not aware that something is stressing us until it is pointed out to us. If there is no obvious stress factors presently, it could be things coming back up from the past that are subconciously distracting you. You might want to try deep reflection in order to acces and solve. I have taken medication for this problem before but the pills are only a crutch with horrible side effects and "morning after" feelings. I would advise that prior to slumber you try doing something enjoying that relaxes you and puts your mind at ease. Be it listening to music, exercising, talking, meditating, etc. (NOT EATING) Different strokes for different folks! Good luck.

Are you stressed out? Do you take naps during the day? It's hard to answer without more detail. There are a multitude of possibilities.
