Do you belive terrorism even exists or do you think it is an invention of the BUsh administartion? Bush acted, all I hear from you is criticism, now is your chance, instead of bashing Bush for what he has done, share with us what you would have done.

Violence towards these ppl is only going to fuel more violence.

If that is not evident by now to you and others, then I don't know how much more evidence you need.

The only way to tackle the anti-American terrorism dilemma is through some major diplomacy but mostly, through incentives.

Take Palestine as an example... Palestine is impoverished, ppl are starving, etc... sanctions have resulted in this. Now ask yourself, they know they could get our aid if they just do what we say but is that making them listen to us? NO.

All that is doing is making them hate us more.

Instead of bullying these extremists that will die starving before they will be 'owned', how about using the funds we put into the military on incentives for them to build their infrastructure.

Think about it... if we helped Palestine build it's infrastructure and economy, would they not be grateful? Yes they would. Of course some would always fight.. but after a generation or two, you can't tell me their children wouldn't remember and start to question anti-American sentiment.

That is just one example but you the idea.

You should be reminded that 9/11 happened when Bush was in office. If Bush is so good at defeating terrorism than why didn't he prevent 9/11 in the first place. Bush's war on terrorism is really just an attack on people that we don't like. Most of the terrorists came from Saudi Arabia, but we didn't even think to attack them. To defeat terrorism you need to do something about the root causes of terrorism not just go after full blown terrorists. I don't think we'll ever leave Iraq because there will always be terrorists ready to fight us because we are there.

We could start by bringing the troops in Iraq home. They are just stirring the pot in the mid east. Build a strong intelligence network world wide. Go after the real terrorist instead of starting a war based on a lie. After 9/11 Bush had most of America eating out of his hand. Approval was near 90% then came Iraq and most Americans disapproved and that movement is growing. His approval is down to about a third of the country, that means that even many repuglicans disapprove of him. He also squandered much of the world support that would have helped us after 9/11 with this evil and unjust war against the Iraqi people and Muslims in general.

Bush talks a lot about how the United States sees the world differently since the 9/11 attacks and his war on terror. However, he does not seem to understand is that how the world views the United States is just as important. If I had a choice I would say begin by working with other countries to gain alliance again and work with the UN rather than bombing a country before the UN has time to finish and investigation or even flee the country being bombed. Liberals are not against any war action we are against any war action that is not just, or were rushed into with out any evidence.

First of all, why do you assume that ALL liberals "don't want us to fight"? I consider myself a moderate, but compared to a conservative I'm automatically "liberal", relatively speaking. We have to fight terrorism but whatever means necessary, but military action alone will not finish the job. We need to show them that their way doesn't work and ours does. I don't criticize Bush for getting rid of Saddam Hussein, but it is fair to criticize him for using knowingly faulty intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq. Why not just come out and tell the truth that Saddam Hussein was a murderous dictator and needed to be overthrown for the sake of the good of the world? If the US also wants to prove that it is not a permanently occupying power in Iraq we HAVE to leave. I might have done exactly the same thing Bush did in regards to fighting the war on terrorism, but I would not have used deception and faulty intelligence to do it as in the long run it can, and will, (and has) backfire(d). Notice the president's approval ratings lately? They are up, and they are still below 50%. There is a reason for this, and its Bush's track record in general, and it isn't good... remember "Katrina"?

A) I'd love for us to fight terrorism!
B) I would've immediatley sent even more troops into Afghanistan (where Al Quieda really was).
C) I would've immediately pushed for more Human Intel resources.
D) I would've also fought the causes of terrorism (extremeist Islam, poverty, more engagement with Islamic governments)
E) Need I say it? No Iraq would've ment more resources to fight terrorism
F) More intellegent homeland defence (look at the bright color coding!), While some adjustments would've needed to be made, the Department of Homeland Security (justt another level of beurocracy)
G) How about getting off of oil dependence? It's what's bankrolling terrorism!
But that's all theoretical now....

You are either very confused or misled by Rush, O'Reilly, and Hannity. Most liberals are in favor of a strong defense and aggressive pursuit of those who operate by terrorism. However, I fail to see what these agendas have to do with the invasion and occupation of Iraq. I assume your misguided criticism is aimed at those who feel we should set a timetable and get out of Iraq, rather than stay indefinitely or build permanent bases.

Uh - not invaded Iraq? Put the the effort into bringing those who actually had something to do with it to justice? Actually protecting our borders and protecting our ports? Acting on the 9/11 commissions findings instead of blocking them at every turn? Not wasting our breath on empty anti 1.3 billion people hate speech thereby creating more terrorists? ........ Want more? Haven't you been listening, or are you going to deny that the libs have plans too?

Who said Liberals don't want to fight?

I'd settle for fighting the right opponent.

If I had my wish list I'd add fighting with dignity and honor. (no torture, no wire-tapping without a warrant, no violations of the 4th amendment, no secret prisons, no holding people without charge, etc)

But to REALLY beat the terrorists you have to sit down and think WHY? Why do they want to kill us? They make TONS of money off of us, why risk that?

We'll never stop terrorism until we get the hell out of the Middle East, get off our oil-addiction, and stop supporting Israel unconditionally. (That last is the most important, by far)

one of the things that can be done is to be more conscientious as to who is doing what in our own country as well as other countries. It was here in the US that it was reported these terrorist groups were learning to become pilots. Since that tragic day on September in 2001, we have become more aware of people that fit terrorists and their actions against Americans. I feel that this should be the norm, and that we should continue to have a tight grip on the dealings and happenings of terrorist groups. We as a nation and in conjunction with other countries against terrorist acts, need to band together in order to prevent unnecessary deaths in our country(ies). We don't need to be sending fathers over there to die (creating MANY single-family homes). we need to bring our troops back home and see what else can be done to keep terrorists and terrorist groups out of this country.
