As long as the container has been well rinsed in clean water. Let the new water stand in the tank for 24 hours before putting the goldfish in it. Goldfish can grow at least eight inches, so I hope your container is big enough or you are willing to get a new one as they grow.

No I think you mean the little plastic kritter kits often sold for hermit crabs, those are useless for both hermies and goldfish. Gold fish need a huge tank 50 gallons OR bigger, they are realated to carp and can get 12" or bigger! The smaller tanks will stunt their growth causing them to die of organ failer(organs continue to grow while the rest of the body doesn't) I would go and buy a couple guppies or small tetras, they don't get too big and will live happy in a small tank!

yes, hermit crabs are shy creatures, therefore they won't bother the goldfish.

No because hermit crabs are Salt Water and Gold fish are Fresh water, if you leave any signs of slat water in the tank your Gold fish will die.

yes, just scrub it down with half a cup ofsalt and water,and then rinse very ell. let the water sit for about a day before you puththe fish in it and they should be fine. You will have to change the water at least once a week
