The reason behind be a liberal today is the same as it was in the 60s... unlike anti-Americans, such as yourself, we believe in the constitution.
We don't pick and choose pieces of it to live by.. we stand by and support is completely.
Abortion - Supreme Court ruled it was legal based on a person's 1st Amendment right to privacy over their body.
Prayer in Schools - Supreme Court ruled that based on the 4th Amendment, no public school, being funded by tax dollars, can have a designated prayer time for any one specific religion.
Those are just two examples that the Supreme Court, NOT ME AS A LIBERAL, but YOUR SUPREME COURT, used OUR CONSTITUTION, as the framework law.
I happen to be a liberal because I believe in that constitution.

no your misunderstanding the platform
and as usual if you don't understand it then you must put it down see the liberals of today support all peoples right to live free as how they live their life and the choices they make will be their own to have responsibility for so if a woman wants an abortion for what ever the reason she should be aloud to make that decision with out stone throwing moralist who feel they have the power to make other bend to their way and that communistic attitude is a thought process that does not belong in a free state
and again sexuality is also an individuals right no to be interfered with or discriminated against for they are as free to choose their way of life as you are and should be aloud to do so with out judgment from an other human being that is gods decision not ours for when we start governing ourselves based on morality views of one or another then we start down the road to dictatorship and before you know it you are no longer free
so in a sense liberals are very much the same as those of past the only thing that has changed is the politics and the nature of morality over liberty .

Don't forget. We also saved America from the depression (which was brought on the the conservative political machines of the late 1890's and early 1900's) and convinced LBJ to back out of Vietnam.
Just because you anti-progressives are only concerned with vaginas and penises and labelling said sex organs "family values" doesn't give you the right to accuse us of the same thing.
May peace and love be with ye.

I'm sure your arguement would have been used in the 1860's by the conservatives of the day about the revolutionary war.
That you don't see the similarities to yourself and the slave owners is ironic. They wanted to keep rights way from people as do you.

And you want to enslave women and take away the rights of people who are different from you. No, it's the same issue. Before, blacks were forced to work without pay. Now, you want to force women to feed a parasitic organism in their bodies for 9 months, at risk to themselves. Before, people did not have the right to representation. Now, you want to take away the right of people to marry because you don't agree with their orientation.
