We barely talk now & it didn't change anything she did with the guy. I just didn't want her to get hurt.

thanks for all your feedback...just a little extra note, she's about to marry a guy she's been engaged to for over a year, yet still continues to mess around with her lover...I know it's her life. It's just hard for me to swallow. I don't understand why she's going to get married!

Hmmm, well we are all entitled to our opinions. You are close enough friends that you should be able to voice your opinion. She should realize this and know that even though you dont approve of her love affair that you still love her as a friend and will continue to do so. I would imagine she confided in you with hopes that you would be happy for her, and when it failed and you had a difference of opinion she probably is embarrassed. She will come back around if you guys are good friends. She will think of the conversation at some point in time and realize you were just voicing your opinion and also that fact you were trying to keep her from being hurt. But.. no you werent wrong. What is a good friend if you cannot tell her the truth? Even though she may not want to hear it. Good luck.

It might have been wrong if your friend didn't ask for your opinion. Tell her what you just told us....you didn't want her to get hurt & that comes from a friend that loves her. We are all entitled to make choices, whether right or wrong in others eyes. She will or should learn from any mistakes that come from it.

maybe you just should've stayed out of the way. The best thing to do is try talking to her one more time and make the first thing you say be "I'm really very sorry." Maybe that'll catch her attention and she'll want to hear more of the apology. The best thing to do though is to stay out of the way with her and her bf.

No it wasn't as long as you were serious in being concerned for her. And as long as you told her why you disapproved. Just not likeing someone is not really enough unless you know something negative to the point of endangerment to her.

YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN TELLING CHICS ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR PERFECT LITTLE NO-GOOD MEN!
THEY'LL ALWAYS TURN ON YOU BEFORE THEY LISTEN TO THE ADVICE THAT YOU'RE GIVING. I'VE BEEN IN THE SAME SITUATION. MY BEST FRIEND AT THE TIME WAS ALWAYS TELLING ME WHO I SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT DATE AND WHEN I GAVE MY OPINION ON HER AND HER BOYFRIEND...IT WAS ALL SHE WROTE.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE ARE NO LONGER ON SPEAKING TERMS. THINGS WERE JUST NEVER THE SAME SINCE THEN. SHE BECAME VERY DISTANT AND SO ON...BUT YOU KNOW WHO NEEDS FRIENDS LIKE THAT? IF THEY CAN'T TAKE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FROM A FRIEND THEN THEY CAN JUST GO WADDLE IN PIG'S VOMIT...I COULDN'T CARE LESS!

No it was not wrong of you to tell your friend she was screwing up. It may have hurt your friendship but when she realizes that she made a mistake, be there to talk to and for support. Don't need to say "I told you so" just be there to listen.

Your friend needs to figure it out on her own. Trust me sooner or later she'll figure it out. I know you were justtrying to look ot for her. But,pretty soon she'll start to thinkn that you were just trying to help...

I think that if you were straight with her, but were kind...you have nothing to worry about, let her know that you care about her, and that you didnt was her to get herself into trouble.
