the most overated player in the NHL would have to be Mike Modano. You don't even hear his name mentioned anymore, yet he was considered for the cover of Nhl 2007 this year

Sid the Kid isn't over-rated. Remember, he is 18. Hes been awesome ever since he played for the Rimouski Oceanic (London Knights Rule). Search for Sidney Crosby on Bearshare or Kazza or something like that and you'll see one of the nicest goals in hockey history from behind the net. At that time he was playing for the Rimouski Oceanic in the QMJHL/CHL. Thats my point!

Hey, first off,,, don't diss SAKU KOIVU!!!! Sak is the man and if you know anything about hockey, you would notice that he is one of the greatest stick-handlers and shows a heck of alot of resemblence to the great Jean Beliveau. Second,,, SID the KID is worth all the hype. If you havent noticed, he's playing in PITTSBURGH!!!! He doesn't have any decent players to feed him. Sure they've got Malkin now,,, but they won't put the teams best two players on the same line. Now who is the most overated??? ,,,,, That's a tie. Eric Lindros and Alexi Yashin. Lindros lost his talent long ago even before he got his brain KO'd by Scott Stevens. The Leafs thought that he would be the saviour last year, lMAO!!!!! And now of course,,, Alexi the not so great. He single handedly made himself the most ruthless, disrespected, and greedy villian in the entire city of Ottawa. Promising to give millions to charity and to the National Arts Centre (a theatre). And he gave NOTHING!!!! He never bothered to practice with the team, he always trained with his Russian friends back home instead of with the team. Then he got traded to NYI in the biggest slap in the face deal of all time!! Who did Ottawa get for Yashin?? We got the big man Zdeno Chara who kicked @$$!!!! He is 100 times better than Yashin will ever be. Now, when was the last time you heard the name Alexi Yashin ??? Doesn't matter really,,, because he is in all honesty and truth, a greedy @$$ mother t-rucker!!!! Thank you for the memories and the great years you spent with the Sens Chara,,,, all the best luck in Beantown :)

This is an easy one (and it's a tie).

In their infinite wisdom the Islanders have Alexei Yashin signed up for several more years at $36M, and they've just signed the 10th ranked goalie in the NHL to a $67M - 15 year contract.

So you have one guy - who is arguably the biggest bust in NHL history based upon what he's paid, tied up for - I believe - another 4 years and a goalie whose projected to be mediocre at best tied up for 15 years! So if you average it out you've blown $100 million against your cap for the next 20 years for two guys you'd trade tomorrow if the right deal came along.

Genius!

Tie Domi was and I'm so glad he retired cause i was getting so sick of hearing about the guy. he was over paid and the Leafs fans loved him and he did **** for them, the Leafs fans don't realize that its the Stanley Cup you are trying to win. and your not going to win it with players like Domi.

Cam>>>>> this was Joe Thornton fist playoffs with SanJose he is great player and it takes time to win the Cup, hey it took the Oilers 5 years to finally win the Cup in the 80's. so know your hockey before you speak.

Sidney Crosbey is really over rated. I mean i dont see nothing wrong with saying this is going to be a good year for him, but when you say he might be the next great one. Then you cross the line!
