You probably know other felons who are working. Apply at those places because you know they don't have hangups about ex cons. Many people in your situation do find good jobs. When someone ask you about your past say, "yeah, I had a problem and I took care of it....it's behind me now"...."Next question".
Everybody has a "past" and many people won't hold that againist you. If they would, you don't want to work for them anyway. Good Luck.

You might want to consider a home business. I believe that once a person has paid their debt to society, that should be the end of it, but unfortunately, that's not the way all people see it. This way you would start out on the same playing field as everyone else, and no one needs to know your past. All you have to do is be willing to learn and I think you would be surprised at how quickly you can start earning a decent income.
Something to consider anyway.
