I have a bunny rabbit. I live in the U.S. She is spayed (so no longer can reproduce), I believe that she is an American Rabbit about medium size, and about 1 1/2 years old. I have recently put her up for adoption for the general public on a website. I have several offers for ppl that live out of the U.S. (mostly France and the U.K.) to adopt her. They are offering me $100+ for the bunny, plus paying any transportation costs...which can be around $1500. I do not think that this is normal. I know that using her for reproduction is not an option.
MY QUESTION: Why would someone need a pet bunny so badly that they would pay that much for one?

All that set aside. If you transport any animal into a foreign country it's subject to their quarantine laws. Bunnies stress easily and the stress from the long trip alone could do some damage. Can you imagine what it would be like if it had to spend weeks and/or months in a quarantine cage??
I think those people are toying with you. Maybe they are kids pranking ya. Whatever it is, don't sell outside the country.
PS: bunnies are not hard to come by in Europe.
Do these people know that you are in the US?

Good question and maybe they are animal activists and maybe bunnies are as hard to come by as fresh eggs or then again maybe they are cultists looking for a sacrificial bunny or maybe they are wealthy and money is no object but for sure they could be just trying to help you out. Maybe you should have more contact with the proposed adopters to see what they are all about before you let bunny go. If I had the room I would take the bunny but I don't have anymore room for anymore animals and too bad because I just love bunnies. Good Luck!

I had some people do that with a goat I'm selling, and it is all a big scam. Because really who would do that. I would put in the ad that you are only selling to the USA. Unless you have a background check on them or know them personally I wouldn't even answer back to them. Tell them that you don't feel comfy with this and that you want to do a background check on them first. If they back out then you know they aren't for real.

why dont those ppl buy rabbit in their own country...like they never find any rabbit b4!
