What's it called when you drag your finger/hand down all the keys of the piano.. its like more of a jazzy thing.. ive been doing a lot of those in my improv. lately.. and ive got blisters on the side of my finger.. is that normal? Thanks. Candace.

glissando. Don't use the side of your finger, have your hand upside down and use the fingernail

Are you talking about portamento or glissando? Use a different finger until you get a good callous, or just don't do it as much. If you use your nails, be careful not to make a clicking sound.

I forget what it is called but if you use the back of your hand, like your fingernails, you won't get blisters.
