Place both batteries along side each other with both pos and neg posts in the same position. Connect a red battery lead from the positive post of one battery to the positive post of the second battery, do the same for the negative posts. You now have your batteries in parallel. The two post left will be one positive and one negative which will give you the 12 volts you need. Test it with a volt meter and you will see 12 volts (depending on the state of charge of the batteries). Once connected and installed, corrosion block all terminals and make sure they clean and tight.
