Has anybody here seen my old friend John.
Refers to JFK also Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy.
Its a song that includs voice overs.
King: I have been to the mountain top.
JFK: some people say we have been here to long allreddy.
Bobby Kennedy. My brother needs not to be idolised or made bigger in death than he was in life.
Any ideas.

Yes, I have. It was very popular in the late 60's or early 70's. Sings about John, Martin and Bob....and has a line that says 'but the good they all die young" .... It starts with "Has anybody here, seen my old friend John, will you tell me where he's gone, ----------------------------(lyrics forgotten, sorry)...., but the good they all die young, Then, it proceeds to the next stanza...."Has anybody here, seen my old friend Martin, will you tell me where he's gone?, same lyrics, as the first. Then it segues to "Has anybody here seen my old friend Bobby, will you tell me where he's gone...........Thanks for bringing it up.

It's called Abraham, Martin, and John and sung by Dion, formerly of the Belmonts who sang such hits as: Teenager In Love

It was sung by Dion in 1968
Lyrics for: Abraham, Martin and John
Has anybody here
Seen my old friend Abraham?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lotta people
But it seems the good, they die young
You know, I just looked around
And he's gone.
Has anybody here
Seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lotta people
But it seems the good, they die young
You know, I just looked around
And he's gone.
Has anybody here
Seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lotta people
But it seems the good, they die young
You know, I just looked around
And he's gone.
Didn't you love the things
That they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good
For you and me?
And we'll be free
Someday soon
And it's a-gonna be
One day...
Has anybody here
Seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walkin' up
Over the hill
With Abraham, Martin, and John.

I believe it's a Kenny G song. You can find it on his X-Mas CD.
