Lots! Take a look at a map of the US and note which states have borders that aren't straight up&down or straight left&right. In fact, I think the only states that only use long. and lat. are Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah. Maybe Alaska, but I'm not sure.

Hawaii is the only state I can think of that doesn't use long. and lat. for any part of its borders. Even West Virginia has some straight parts to its borders.

But don't take my word for it - find a map.

a few, some just make it easier that way, but if it was intentional is another thing. when you have a river, its easy to use that, but lacking that, its easier to just make a line, and to make life even easier, they used NS or EW to make those lines, and while they may or may not have aimed at a particualar long lat line, by the nature of being either NS or EW, they have a continuous lat or long, be it (random number to show a point) 84w, 84`12`45`12 (84 deg, 12 min, 45 sec 12 thirds) or even 84.1325121251365 they have the measurment, intenstional or not.

maximum folk have a minimum of a few of their obstacles not desperate by utilising E-W or N-S lines. purely seem at a US map and notice what share you will hit upon with non-rapidly lines.
