I wash my face once in the morning, once at night, and use an oil-free mousturizer and apply powder. But my face, especially on the forehead and nose area, becomes oily and shiny a few hours after I've applied makeup. Why is this? Is it just because of the natural oils in my skin? And what can I do about this?

It could be you're washing your face too often. It might be that more than one washing could be stimulating your pores to make more oil. I used to have that problem a few years ago, and what I usually did was use a mud mask (I used Mudd brand; make sure it's clay-based) once a week. Always moisturize right after because your skin will be pretty dry. I used to use Neutrogena's combination skin moisturizer. Also I used a Bonne Bell oil absorbing powder that worked pretty well. You may have to reapply more than once a day depending on how much oil you produce. But as far as I know, there's no way to slacken the oil production except to wait until you get older, it should die down a little by then. And on the plus side, you'll have younger looking skin for a lot longer time than the people your age who have dry skin problems. =) Hope this helps.

PS. Another good moisturizer you can try (that I presently use) is called Alba, and it's available at natural healthcare/food stores.

you cant do much about it. im the exact same way. throughout the day ill just apply a tiny bit of powder on those areas, but the oil always seems to come back. but everynight, i use rubbing alcohol all over my forehead and in my tzone area just to dry it out a little bit and it will work. just make sure you dont overdry it.

i think its clean and clear oil wipes they're blue and portable... you can put them in your purse. you can use them to w ipe your face (t zone) and it wont mess up your make up... it just absorbs the oil.
