How do I do it, just right click internet explorer and click "scan now"? And if I do that, will it interfere with someone else trying to scan the internet?

No. That technique is for scanning individual files you download. Your anti-virus program runs all the time your computer is on. While you are surfing the net it is looking at what enters your computer. It also monitor what is already on your computer to watch for changes. Viruses and Spyware can sit idle on your computer until intructed to do its thing.

So, don't worry about scanning the net with your AV program. Just make sure it is on, then surf to your hearts content. Just beware of the sites you go to. The program called Site Advisor can alert you to bad sites. It is free and you can read about it and download here. I use it and consider it as a first line of defense.

You cannot scan the internet, just the contents of your computer. You would simply scan the browser, and the scanner would determine if a virus infected the individual program. Your Internet browser allows to you see the internet, but it is not the internet. Just a browser.

And the pentagon does not do that either.

How stupid are you. You can't scan the entire internet for software. If you click IE & scan now it scans IE for viruses. It will interfere with you because you are always convinced it scans the world for viruses.

No, you can't do that. If nothing else, it's just not practical. You'd need carrier-class bandwidth. And an antivirus product that can scan any operating system, of which there is no such thing. On top of that, most systems are behind firewalls so there would be no way to access them anyway.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
