I currently have sky digital and sometimes the channels freze so that i have to wait to change the programme. I think the problem is with the box so i want to change it. Where can I get a new one from and which one do you recommend? Many thanks

Ask sky for a new one, if your old one is out of warranty then you might be asked to pay... then just threaten to cancel your sky and they will send you one for free.

It might not be the box. Do the channels freze during strong winds or rain. I had this problem too and turned out the dish hadnt been connected properly and had loose wire so whenever it got windy the picture froze!!

Since it has been fixed have had no problems.

One way that is meant to resolve problems is go to channel 501 and then back to the channel you were watching - this is meant to help!!

That happens to us too, and we have two sky boxes which do it at the same time. We had sky phone us up the other day asking to we want to pay to cover our sky boxes, haven't they got a cheek, the price we pay it should already be covered for damages or faults! No doubt something will go wrong with it soon!

If you want a new box why don't you wait till there's a special offer on, we did that and only paid sky £50 for a Sky + box.

Try switching it to standby, taking the card out, unplugging it. Wait a few seconds then put it all back again. That usually cures it for a while. I ahve the same problem and I am wondering about changing. Is is worth getting sky +

I had the same problem and called SKY.
they went through a few checks while I was on the phone and we got it sorted for now.
I was told that if I needed a Technician to come out it would cost me 100 EURO but included in that cost was a new box if my one was found to be faulty.
I like the answer you got first about threatening to have it removed I could see that work.

you take advantage of an analogous dish desire yet another cable to be run in out of your dish to the Sky+ field, it really is so that you'll be able to record one channel at the same time as gazing yet another. The £10 more advantageous in accordance to month is not any longer paid, the cost changed into cancelled 1st July 2007

Try turning everything off at the mains for a couple of mins, it usually sorts mine out.
