There is a big difference between the northern and southern part of the state. I'm in Morgantown (like you, I can be in Pennyslvania in 10 minutes), and it's just like any other town to me, it could be anywhere, like in Jersey or outside of Pittsburgh. I'm not originally from WV, but I can't stand the way we are made fun or called hillbillies and rednecks. Yes, there are hillbillies and rednecks around, but there are a lot of those in all states. People see things they want to believe typifies the entire states, such as a poor shack on the side of a mountain, and believe the entire state is like that, when it isn't. I don't have a southern accent (I'm orginially from Michigan), I don't go deer hunting, and I don't listen to country music. But there are people who do... and I'm sure there are people in New York or California who do that too.

I drove through West Virginia this last Spring, and I thought it one of the most beautiful places I'd ever been through! I saw those purple mountain majesties, and I loved how the mountains weren't covered by the trees. I'm well-traveled, and I can say that the general stereotype for anyone who isn't a Northerner, Californian or isn't from a large city where trends start and education rules is less than superior to them. Take heart, people who take the time to know you will get it.

even at the same time as id in no way heard it before, I figured it changed into stated Ezz-ought to, so I dont imagine its that confusing to figure out, and that i wager maximum folk ought to call the youngster by making use of the acceptable call! Esme is a quite call :) playstation - im from virginia, and growing up, distinct folk had a aspect hostile to WV, like we were so a lot more advantageous acceptable. WV has a foul rap for no reason. some thing undesirable human beings say about WV takes position in the different state interior the U.S. so no concerns! human beings must be ignorant :)

At least Ky has the central portion of the state; thoroughbred farms and lots of rich folks.
I think the N. Part of W.Va. is pretty. I grew up in E. Ky near Huntington. That whole area is nasty, BOTH states.

I think that any state where half the people have one last name and the other half have another, has issues.
