Your wording is bad and suggests you shouldn't be doing electrical work. But let me see if I understand what you mean using correct terms. I assume you have a 4 PRONG outlet (also called a 4 wire outlet) and for some reason your stove has a cord with a 3-wire (3-prong) plug on it? I say for some reason, because stoves usually ship without a cord, so the correct cord can be put on. In your case, you should get a 4-wire cord put on the stove.

Some simple rules to always follow for stoves and dryers:
1) when you get a new appliance, get the right cord to match the outlet you already have.
2) new outlets (including if you 'move' an outlet) need to be 4 wire (existing 3 wires do not need to change)
3) to upgrade a 3 wire output to a 4 wire outlet will require a new cable from the panel.
4) you cannot change a 4-wire outlet to a 3-wire outlet

ok first in case you adjust your twine from the 4 prong to 3 prong you will in all risk void your guarantee. 2d the previous way of hooking up a three prong grow to be utilizing the white , black and crimson wires the bare copper (floor( grow to be not used or it grow to be positioned under a mounting screw. The white twine grow to be constantly used. you do not sound such as you have an extremely solid theory of what to do. i prefer to recommend hiring an electrician, it is going to fee you yet you will sleep better not annoying some hearth.

Sound like you should leave this to an electrician.
4 way outlets are for 208 V service.
