Women generally have a way with words, we can express our feelings , be quite cutting , sarcastic and remain seemingly calm and composed, men on the other hand find it difficult to compete with us verbally, their thinking isn't so quick, their memory ( and recall of things that happened years ago) is not so good nor have they the gift of dragging the past up. Their defence against our argumentative skills is to raise their voice and scream and shout, they know they will lose hands down in a calm argument, it is frustration that makes them yell!!!!!!!!!

this a very silly question. some men shout and scream and some talk calmly similarly some women so talk calmly and some shout a scream. It depends on the situation, their state of mind and their personality. It has nothing to do with gender

I have to tell you that both men and women are guilty of shouting and screaming when they are upset and trying to get their point across. These individuals seem to be more sensitive and passionate as opposed to those men and women who are not found guilty of screaming and shouting to get their point across. Aside from this--it is a clear indication that they are lacking communication skills when it comes to conflict and resolution.

I think you're looking at your situation only. In the situations I'm around currently it's the woman doing the screaming and yelling while the men are being the calm ones....

However, when men do scream and yell it's because they feel that they're losing control of the situation, and this is their way of getting it back as quickly as possible.

the reason women talk calmly is that they think they are getting across. men seem to get ignored by wives sometimes and guess what if you yell you get your point across. is that right no clearly but saying that women are calm and good natured is pretty off the mark as well so frame your question better and you get better answers

Why does my wife ask a question, and then ignore the answer?

I have asked my wife, when she has been shouting at others over the same matter, 'If shouting actually changed anything, then why are you still shouting?'

I can argue and talk without having to shout. But refuse to do so when what I am saying is not being listened to.

I resent that.

I resent being abused.

Sash.

Maybe that is the case in your experience. Personally, I remain calm. I beleive that in an arguement, whether constructive or otherwise, the first person to become abusive has just lost the argument as they have more than likely run out of reason and defense of their opinion....just a thought :-)

Talk about trying to get your point across.
Talk about trying to get your point across.

You premise is flawed. Not all men scream and holler and not all woman talk calmly.

Talk about trying to get your point across.
