I'm a woman and I am not adversed to shouting to get my point across.
I think it's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

I do all the shouting and screaming, not my husband. I hope to get better control of this, because it has taken a toll on him. Not all women talk calmly, we are just as bad as men.

Men have to shout because women don't or can't listen. Women talk 'calmly' because they expect the men to do everything they say and are quite happy to punish them for not hearing or listening to them in the first place!

You are mixing with the wrong men if they scream & shout at you...the men I know are calm & knowledgeable & would never scream to get a point across....move on

Because they can, and somehow they think they are manly, and they can't seem to sit down and talk calmly, it drives me nuts, i can't have a rational conversation my my partner, or sometimes even my sons, as they just yell, men seem to be on the defencive, and this makes it even harder, to chat and try and get your point across, so in the end i just give up.............

The woman is probably watching soaps, drying her hair (again) or screaming at the kids.
Or it could be that this, and your question, is a wild generalisation.
Anyway, it is well known that women scream at the menfolk at least one week out of four!

it works both ways really...there's tons of women who shout at me all the time, working retail...I've had more women shout and scream than men, although it's a close one lol.
