Many do not vote since it does not matter if the Reps or Dems are in control and we know it. The money runs this country. People hating each other for others political stance are ignorant to the facts and decide to argue instead of deal with issues. We are trying to impose a democratic government on other countries when our is actually a free republic. Makes no sense.

That's the reason, it's called FREEDOM. People are free to vote only if they want to or have an interest in the issues & candidates. An @ss hat like you, on the other hand, should not vote just for questioning democracy.

People in the US vote for every election. In the last presidential election, over 115,000 million people cast votes, in the US.
The voter turnout in Iraq has been as high as 75%, for the last elections.
In the US, we do not have a democracy. It is a representative republic.
Your grammar is bad, and your facts are wrong.

have you bothered thinking about why this country holds November elections on a Tuesday, when most of the lower and working class is either at work or unavailable? why can't we cast our votes on a Saturday like many other countries? this just does NOT make sense. Or maybe the government should make that day a holiday. I mean, we have so many other Holidays, why not this day? it is probably THE most important day for Americans to participate in...

Well maybe its becuase the Electoral College makes voting nearly pointless. The candidate with the votes of the majority of Americans can still lose. It is time to rid this nation of the obsolete and ANTI-democratic Electoral College!

I truly feel that the American low turnout is due to the lack of magnetism and idealism and originality of our political choices.

I hope you are one that doesn't participate in the democratic process. In fact, I am glad that the turnout is low. Thomas Jefferson said that the "first principle of Democracy is education." With all the dim wits out there, we should only have 25% turnouts!

Iraq got a 90% turn out.
Get your fact straight.
But in the US, I would agree. We take freedom for granted, and forget that our votes change the course of human existence.

They believe their vote doesn't count, or any one of a dozen excuses. Even now when we don't have to pay a poll tax, folks don't go to the polls.
