For a "true" honky-tonk go north to Conroe. Borski's Tavern on Sheperd Hill right off of I45. It's been a honky tonk for over 100 years, they have jam sessions 4 nights a week, and bands the other 3. Have a blast!

I don't know of any Clubs on Washington Ave (but that's because I don't really know of clubs, period). What a friend of mine did for another friend's bachelorette party was to do a very downtown thing. First we had appetizers at one restaurant, then we went for dinner at another, dessert at a third, and then dancing at Venue. It was very fun. We pranced around in our silly party outfits and had a great time. There's also the Angelica theater in downtown. You should check if they're playing a cool movie for before, or really late night. Their restaurant also has (or did when I went last) a really great dessert selection.

Moe's place in Katy, also Midnight Rodeo at Katy Mills Mall. Moes has live music and a large dance floor every night as far as I know.

Armadillo Palace on Kirby is your best bet in Houston itself.

"Midnight Rodeo" used to be, but I'm not sure if it is still in operation.
