Well I am Australian, I love my country and i am so proud that we avoid massive conflict and keep to ourselves and live our own lives, Unlike America , we are not really dominated by celebrities, So no one feels the need to try and pose to be anyone.
Yes the only thing i get embarassed about is when people think Australians are stupid and all we do is bbq, drink beer and say g'day mate, chase kangaroos ride in utes and live in deserts..
lol
So not true!! But i do love the stereo type we have in many ways! it makes it all the better when people who criticize Australia come here and absoloutely love it

I am ashamed of having to live alongside the ever increasing sub culture, that is chavistocracy. Fed up with their lack of respect for other people, their bull terriers walking next to them, or biting somebody (there usually off the lead), their egotistical attitude of "we rule the world, and therefore we do whatever we want, however much it may affect others". The problem is what they don't realise is that it is just a sub-culture, and will eventually fizzle out. What will happen then?. Whilst everybody else is continuing to progress with their lives, earning money for a living and not annoying other people what will they be doing? Hopefully the army will be called in, and the remnants of them will be taken to a place whereby the public are well protected from them. Their dogs on the other hand will be treated with decency at an ex offending dog hotel.

I have been really ashamed of being British since the invasion of Iraq.
I am so sad at what is happening there as I didn't need a crystal ball to know that what is happening now would be the outcome of totally unnecessary interference.
I demonstrated before the invasion - the only political demonstration I have been on ever, and now don't know how to try and make it better for those poor people.

You've got a lot of nerve judging Americans! You cannot paint all British or American citizens with the same brush. Certainly there are American citizens I am ashamed of. But the vast majority of Americans are upstanding, godly people. I'd rather live in America than anywhere else on earth.

Oh yes,I feel ashamed all the time. Look who they voted for.BUSH, and TWICE In the usa, and england ,well I don't really know about your country, only been to london once, there are so many, maybe the majority, who are pretentious in this country. Yes, they think,'my country, right or wrong,my country'. They want to feel they are a part of or the family of ...... I don't know..... well,I guess royalty.I guess after thinking about it ,we are not far apart, after all. God bless you,and me too.A new homeland? Didn't some of you try that ? No, no matter where you go it follows. We think. They can't take that away. Damn ,I pray not.

Look. If you feel ashamed of your countrymen, it's probably because you're living in a democracy or a republic. We all like to talk about freedom and diversity of opinion, but when we see it in action, we start to freak out. ("Why aren't all those other people just like me?!") Well, they aren't. And because they're living in a relatively free society, they get to act that way -- and sometimes, even vote their friends or representatives into power. Then you really get to gnash your teeth.
Nevertheless, no matter how painful it gets, it's helpful to ask yourself this question from time to time: Would you rather live in a place where all your countrymen acted just like you -- knowing that this environment inevitably means you live in a ruthless dictatorship?

Yes - continually; whenever, we see reports of football hooligans abroad and the behavour of the Brits in greece and spain drinking themselves into oblivion. Mostly, however, it's when I visit a beauty spot-a beach or just one of our many country lanes and see the rubbish strewn everywhere. What chance does the average youngster have of growing up to be a true brit when we think of the example set us by those supposedly governing us? It's heartbreaking - yes lets find a new homeland.

Most of us normally feel embarassed of our own countrymen whenever we are abroad, especially when on vacation in some developing country.
Its a common thing, I dont really liked the British, think they are really haughty especailly in their previous empire and like to remind them of the Opium war and the rape of India!
But there are really some nice Brits that I know too.
