do you ever notice in almost every movie, whenever there is a scene where one person is talking to another person by phone, when they are done speaking they never say the line, 'bye' to each other. they just say the last statement and then hang up. do you ever notice that?? even on tv shows, why is that??

i notice it happens in almost every single movie, why on earth is that??

Yes I have noticed that. I find it more with action movies though. I think it has something to do with the writer wanting to keep the momentum going.
In Romance movies the good byes are there although not in those terms. More like I'll see you tomorrow or this weekend kinda continuum.

I see them say bye, but what I think is stupid is when the line they are saying needs more than a one word answer and they start talking again in about 1/2 second. you know the other guy in real life would still be talking when they just cut them off. makes me nuts.

Have you ever noticed when trying to hang up with someone how long it takes to say "ok...alright... talk to your later...have a good night... good night... ok... alright... take care... bye" Who wants to hear all that every time you go to the movies?

More dramatic. It works the same way on Yahoo Answers. Watch. And that is why they do that in movies!
