I want a lip ring, but my mother would freak if I ever brought it up with her. She is strongly against body piercing. How should I persuade her to let me get one?

I'd say go for it. When you get tired of it you can take it out, no harm done.

Tell your mother that Americans are not very familiar with different cultures that believe in facial piercings, do your homework online and see what reasons people do that for and approach her.

Only get a lip ring if you are a gay guy and you want to advertise it. If you want to look hot, get a thick manly hoop in each ear.

well if ur not old enough (18) then ur mom would be the only one that would really be able to decide if u would get it or not. so there most likely isnt a way that u would get ur mom to let u. but still try beggin until she cracks that always works for me lol :-)

if ur under 18 u cant get one she thinks theyre nasty and i agree with her wait till ur 18 and not only that if they peirce it wrong ur s.o.l. not only that but if u leave it in to long and dont like it and try to take it out ur still gonna have a hole in ur lip and thats nasty (try going in for kiss with a girl and than sray spit outta that hole eewww)

tell her it doesn't affect her, cause it doesn't. what you do to your face is not going to change her life. it's your body, it's your choice. and also, don't listen to the people saying facial peircings are gross, they're hot. like, really really really hot.

i would have to agree with your mom. don't mark your body like that. it is not attractive and some people are down right scary.
