If you want a more natural look, put on your eyeliner befor your eyeshadow, probably a soft brown, so that it clouds the line so it doesnt seem so harsh. Also, if you wear it on the top lid, try not to apply eyeliner all the way on the bottom lid because it closes out the eye and makes it look smaller. However, if you put a little eyeline are the outer end of your lower eyelids, it can give your eyes a more almond looking shape and enhance them.

A dark brown on the upper lid. If you wear some on your bottom lid don't line the whole bottom lid, start lining from the outter corner & go 3/4's of the way. You can also line the inside lower lid with white eyeliner it really makes them pop. I got that from the Tyra Banks show & I've been hooked on the white eyeliner. Good luck.

You sound like my coloration--except I have freckles!
I reccomend trying a dark green liner-like a jade color. It will be softer than black, but different than brown. Also, navy blue looks really beautiful. People always notice when I have that on. Instead of using black mascara opt for a dark brown or NAVY blue. That change will soften things up a bit too.

Try a dark brown...
Or maybe if you only wear eyeliner on your top lid, use a thin, angled brush and used a line of eyeshadow instead. Liquid eyeshadow is great too.
Or, stick to just wearing mascara.
Have fun experimenting =)

try using a glittery brown eye SHADOW and just do the same as you would a pencil.. it doesn't feel so heavy and looks beautiful...you can still wear your regular eyeshadow, if you do try an earthy color.. like a light champagne color all over w/ a touch of green on the crease.and then that brown as the liner. that will open them up!! . if you would just rather keep using the pencil just go with, again a glitzy brown.

Definately not black. Try some different colors until you find the right one you like best. Try light brown and lighter colors.

Well chocolate brown is often really flattering.
You could also experiment with most colours -blues, greens and greys and even try violet.

well my sister wears makeup and she normally only puts on a brownish color on her top lid. honestly when she wears it on the bottom it makes her eyes look huge(in my family we allready have full eyes). She only wears black on the top and/or bottom when she does Speech and Theater compitions
